Oak Grove

We've done a whole lot of getting out into the mountains lately.  Cory found a place while he was out scouting for fires that's pretty darn close.  I had heard of it before, but never gone up that way.  It's literally only a few minutes drive, but it feels like you're far out of town.  Full of tall pines and oak trees, it's a nice little place to hike and camp.  Emma likes to pick me flowers.
From the top of this mountain, we could see the town we live in....a reminder that we were close to home, but as you can see it was much cooler.  We were comfortable in sweatshirts and jeans.  I love that kind of weather.  :)

Simple beauty.
The campsite we chose was really neat.  Emma spent the majority of her time playing with the water spout.
Emma picked a flower and put it on my head.

We were brave explorers forging through the massive pine trees on the nicely groomed pine needle path.

Emma was most content when she was the leader of the hike.  This is how she showed us all the way....by pointing her little finger in the air.
