We visited the zoo. It was a perfect fall day. Here is Emma and Cory looking at the flamingos.....they weren't posing here....does everyone do this when they see flamingos? :)
Where the Wild Things Are.....one of my favorite and Emma's favorite books. :) Unfortunately, not one of my favorite new movies. It was an interesting perspective from the writer of the screenplay, but I can't recommend taking your kids to it. It was very sad, with lots of anger and destruction. I was left, walking out of the theater, thinking to myself....what the heck was that about???? The positives....the monsters looked JUST like they did in the book, and they did use a couple of lines from the book. :) Anyway, this sign was at the zoo. :)
Mom definitely got more pictures than I did at the zoo....since my battery was dead about half way through. It made me wish we had a zoo closer to us. And it made me wonder what the animals do when they get cold....the ones who don't have big buildings to live in. 
Everyone's favorite part seemed to be feeding the animals. The zoo sold food you could feed to all sorts of animals. When we ran out of coins, we scooped up handfulls of leaves....and the animals liked that just as much. 
My favorite was the giraffes...they really wanted the leaves we were trying to give them. They stretched their necks out and stuck their long black tongues out as far as they could. If the zoo wasn't closing, I bet we would have stayed there trying to feed the giraffes for an hour.
