Our First Geocaching Adventure
We wanted to take a Jeep ride, so we decided to look up a geocache to do along the way. I found one that said it was for trading little girl's dress up items. Emma picked out a dress up necklace that she could bear to part with- and we headed out on a treasure hunt. :)
We used the GPS to get us within 100 feet of the prize...and then the battery died. :) Luckily it was in a pretty deserty area, and it wasn't hard to find.
DJ read the note to Emma from the prize box and she dug in to find a good trade.
Mostly necklaces, earrings, bracelets....(most other parents were smarter than me and put the necklaces in plastic bags) :)
Emma picked out a Barbie watch that REALLY works. :) Every 2 minutes, she would tell us what time it was. Along the trip, a grasshopper flew into the car and landed on Emma's lap. She screamed bloody murder and would not calm down until we stopped the Jeep and made sure it was out. She's going through a faze right now where every bug is scary until we meet it and she is assured that it is a nice bug. :) Among the list of nice bugs......ladybugs, rollie pollies, bees, tiny flys, all spiders except black widows and now grasshoppers. :) I'm sure there will be many more 'bug meetings' as the summer goes on with the top off the Jeep.
